The Platform Project Manager will be responsible for providing project management guidance and support for development and commercialization programs through an integrated approach across the business. This individual is responsible for developing and managing the project plan and driving execution across multiple cross-functional areas including manufacturing, clinical, regulatory, quality, and commercial. The Project Manager will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, implementing, executing, supporting budgets, and commercializing our product pipeline. This position shall adhere to the Company's quality system including but not limited to the applicable standards, policies and procedures in the areas of responsibility defined in this job description.


Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Develop detailed project plans and organize activities and milestones to ensure projects are delivered within budget, in scope, and on time.
  2. Negotiates with stakeholders to obtain the resources necessary for successful project execution.
  3. Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for product development activities. Includes project planning, resource planning, project scheduling and leading teams to accomplish project goals.
  4. Anticipate project/program risks and develop mitigation strategies/plans for more complex projects/programs
  5. Provide leadership to evaluate and resolve barriers to team/project progress.
  6. Create and utilize appropriate planning tools such as decision support models, Gantt charts, and project timelines to ensure accountability throughout the organization. Ensure that responsibilities are understood, risks are identified, progress is measured and plans are updated and adapted as necessary.
  7. Identify and escalate project obstacles and risks and make recommendation to project team and management to mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  8. Identify and recommend opportunities for business process design and improvements.
  9. Serves as a project management advocate and mentor.
  10. Employ excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management to facilitate information flow between departments and senior management.
  11. Perform duties on site, on time, and within the Company's normal business hours listed in the Employee Handbook.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.


  1. Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in project management, scientific or technical discipline (MBA or MS degree in related field preferred).
  2. Experience
    • 7-10+ years project management experience involving multi-disciplinary teams in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
    • Strong background in and understanding of the drug development process from early stage R&D to late stage development and commercialization.
    • PMP Certification preferred.
  3. Skills
    • Ability to handle conflict through proactive action and direct and timely communication.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, effective problem solving, negotiation, and decision making skills.
    • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders and mobilize and motivate teams at all levels.
    • Solid business and scientific technical acumen; versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and financial planning skills.
    • Must have proficiency with MS Project and timeline preparation and maintenance.
    • Demonstrated leadership capability.
    • Organized, results-oriented, and strategic thinker.
    • Familiarity with the Drug Development Process
    • Candidate must possess excellent team building, training and facilitation skills.
    • Must have the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to management.
    • Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple projects and priorities.
